This is the first unedited research interview conducted by Grant McLachlan for his book Sparrow: A Chronicle of Defiance, which is about Sparrow Force duirng World War II. Bert Price joined the 2/40 Infantry Battalion AIF and later escaped to East Timor to join the 2/2 Independent Company as part of D Platoon. Upon returning to Australia late in 1942, he then joined the 2/12 Infantry Battalion.
